About us

Glasgow City Council and Scottish Enterprise are the two main public sector organisations involved in the economic regeneration of the city. Independently we produce and distribute a wealth of statistical information on a range of economy-related issues using official and unofficial sources of data which many of you already access.

A Joint Economic Strategy, launched in 1999, provided the original impetus for developing this website, the main objective of which is to take a more strategic approach to the gathering, analysing and dissemination of economic information. The launch of our new ten-year economic development strategy “A Step Change for Glasgow”, led to the refreshing of this site.
